Goal Seek is the heart of ApoClock. You give it a roster and an event length, and it searches the entire day to find the single window where the most members are reachable. No more polling your alliance, no more spreadsheets, no more events that half the team sleeps through.

What Goal Seek scores

Under the hood, Goal Seek walks every candidate start time and rates how awake your roster is during that window. Each member contributes based on their local time of day, weighted by their period:

Add those contributions up across everyone you have selected and you get a single availability score for that slot. The slot with the highest score wins.

Goal Seek is not looking for a time that is convenient for one timezone. It is looking for the least-bad compromise across all of them — the hour that wakes the largest slice of your alliance at once.

How to run it

  1. Open the Goal Seek panel from the dashboard.
  2. Choose which members to include — deselect anyone who is optional for this event.
  3. Set the event duration, for example 90 minutes.
  4. Run it. ApoClock scores every slot and surfaces the winner, plus the runners-up.
Tip: The roster you include defines the answer. Optimising for your 20 core fighters gives a sharper result than optimising for all 60 members, half of whom will not show regardless of the time.

Scrub the time slots

The winning slot is a starting point, not a verdict. Drag the timeline to scrub through nearby windows and watch the score and period badges update in real time. Often a slot 30 minutes earlier costs you almost nothing on the score but lands far more conveniently for your leadership core.

This is where Goal Seek pays off twice: it does the heavy math, and then it lets you make the final human call with full information in front of you.

Reading the availability score

The score is a relative measure, not a percentage of attendance. A higher number means more of your selected roster is in a good waking window. Compare it against the other slots: if the top three slots are clustered close together, you have flexibility; if the winner towers over the rest, that is your one good window — take it.

Post the winning slot to Discord

When you have locked in a slot, push it to your server. ApoClock builds an embed that summarises the event and shows the time in every member's local clock, so nobody has to do timezone math. A posted availability summary looks roughly like this:
